Data Analyst and Impact Measurement Specialist

Role Overview: The Data Analyst and Impact Measurement Specialist at Brave is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to measure the impact of the organization’s efforts in housing homeless veterans. This role involves translating data into actionable insights that inform strategy, demonstrate program effectiveness, and support funding proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Collection: Design and implement systems for gathering data on veteran housing projects, including occupancy rates, housing stability, veteran satisfaction, and service utilization.
  • Analysis: Use statistical methods to analyze data, identifying trends, outcomes, and areas for improvement. This includes evaluating the effectiveness of different housing models or support services.
  • Impact Reporting: Develop comprehensive reports and dashboards that clearly communicate the impact of Brave’s work to stakeholders, funders, and the board. These reports should highlight success stories, challenges, and the overall health of the veteran community served.
  • Program Evaluation: Conduct evaluations of existing programs to assess their effectiveness in meeting veterans’ needs. Recommend modifications or new initiatives based on data-driven insights.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for housing and support programs, regularly updating these metrics to reflect organizational goals and funder requirements.
  • Predictive Analytics: Use data to forecast future needs, potential challenges, and growth opportunities for Brave’s housing projects.
  • Grant Support: Provide data and analysis for grant applications, showing past impact and projected outcomes for new funding requests.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with privacy laws, especially when dealing with sensitive information about veterans.
  • Collaboration: Work with program teams to understand their data needs and help them use data effectively in their daily operations and decision-making.
  • Technology Management: Oversee or contribute to the selection and use of data management tools, databases, and analytics software that support Brave’s work.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in data analysis, preferably in social services, housing, or non-profit sectors.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel, SQL, Python, or R, and experience with data visualization tools.
